You’re missing the potential of your website visitors becoming online advocates of your brand–sharing the news of your latest offers or product announcements with a simple click of a button. Social plugins make it easy for your visitors to stay engaged with your brand exposing your brand to their friends and followers, which will ultimately drive more traffic to your website. And who doesn’t want that?
If you don’t have a simple “share”, “like”, or “recommend” button on your website, we suggest you add them now. These little buttons allow your visitors to easily engage a social experience. Look at these buttons as your portal to new customers and prospects or building a more impressive online presence. The great thing is that many plugins are readily available and can be added to your website. Some can even be customized.
The mainstream social media websites offer their plugins for free. You do not have to have an account with each site to obtain the plugin or to have others share your site on them. They include: Facebook, twitter, Google+, and Pinterest.
My favorite social share plugin is Addthis. It is the world’s largest sharing platform and can easily be configured to share your webpage on hundreds of social media websites. As of August 24, 2012, there are over 14 million domains using the Addthis plugin! It is an all-in-one plugin that offers easy social sharing—even tracking.
